Open Question: Teaching programs/human rights in Asia that are not scams?

I'd like to to teach english, or work in human rights, preferably in East/Southeast Asia (ie Thailand, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Mongolia). I'm not necessarily interested in China, unless it involves Tibet, possibly Taiwan. I've been looking and looking and keep finding programs that are purported scams and would like some people who've been in any of the countries listed to weigh in on experiences/pros and cons. The main things for me would be able to make a salary (room and board being covered would be nice =) ) and also be able to bring my girlfriend and have her work as well.
